Community Guidelines

This is a reference translation. The Japanese version is authoritative and prevails in case of any discrepancy.

"EDO ONLINE" (the "Service") aims to be a place where everyone can enjoy interacting with peace of mind. These Community Guidelines summarize the principles and requests we ask all users to follow when using the Service's social features. Please read them together with the Terms of Use.

Where these guidelines apply

These guidelines apply to all expression within the Service that other users can see or that reaches other users, including:

  • Activity on EDOtter such as posts, replies, likes, and follows;
  • Profile text, status lines, character names, and display names;
  • Clan-related expression such as clan names, crests (kamon), and descriptions;
  • Direct messages (DMs) and communication during trades;
  • Any other text or images that users can enter or send.

Prohibited conduct

The following conduct is prohibited. If the Service determines that an action falls under any of these, the measures described below may be taken.

  • Slander, insults, abuse, or persistent harassment of others;
  • Discriminatory expression or expression that incites hatred against specific individuals or groups (hate speech);
  • Inciting others to attack someone, or stirring up conflict;
  • Impersonation, or pretending to be the operator or a third party;
  • Exposing others' personal information without consent (address, name, contact details, photos, etc.);
  • Posting obscene, cruel, or extremely offensive content;
  • Advertising, solicitation, spam, or mass posting of irrelevant content;
  • Using cheats or unauthorized tools, guiding others to them, or facilitating real-money trading (RMT);
  • Acts that violate laws or public order and morals, or that encourage such acts.

Removal of posts and use restrictions

  • The Service may remove or hide posts or expression that it determines violate these guidelines or the Terms of Use, without prior notice.
  • For malicious or repeated violations, the Service may restrict features, temporarily suspend an account, or terminate use (account closure).
  • These determinations and measures are made at the Service's discretion. We may not provide detailed individual explanations of the reasons for a measure.
  • Even for posts found not to be in violation, we may ask for removal or correction where operationally necessary.

When something is wrong (reporting)

If you come across a post or behavior by another user that concerns you, please let us know via the report feature on EDOtter. We will review what you send and respond as necessary. Reporting will not put the reporter at any disadvantage.

Changes to these guidelines

  • The contents of these guidelines may be changed without notice as needed.
  • The revised guidelines take effect from the time they are posted on this website.
